Starting his career as an apprentice in the construction of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers and submarines, Steve quickly distinguished himself in his field. His academic journey saw him graduating with honors from Newport News Shipbuilding Apprentice School, winning the prestigious Niels Christianson Craftsmanship Award, and attaining an MBA from the Florida Institute of Technology.
In his ascent through the ranks, Steve developed an innovative risk management process for nuclear-powered aircraft carriers. This process, recognized by the Defense Systems Management College as an Industry Best Practice, earned him a nomination for the distinguished President’s Model of Excellence Award. His ingenious method has helped to manage over $1.5 billion in risk across four aircraft carrier programs, and it continues to be a key practice in the industry today.
He later helped to start his wife’s company and grow it into a multi-million-dollar business. As VP of Reed Integration, Inc., he helped the company qualify to be on the Inc. 5000 for three years in a row as one of the fastest-growing companies in America.
Steve Waddell’s expertise and innovative approach have caught the attention of prominent outlets such as Inc. Magazine and many others. However, his real standout contribution is his debut book, Valuepreneurs. In it, Steve pioneers a new path in product development, providing entrepreneurs with a unique 5-stage, 15-step blueprint to transform mere ideas into profitable realities. This inventive methodology not only equips entrepreneurs to generate remarkable outcomes for their customers and themselves, but also contributes positively to society.
Today, Steve lives in Suffolk, Virginia, with his wife and their two rescue German Shepherds, Rose and Thor, and in his free time enjoys tropical gardening, rescuing German Shepherds, and donating some of the profits from his publishing company, RosenThor Publishing, to Southeast German Shepherd Rescue.
He hopes to continue to make a difference in the lives of others, live a life of abundance, travel, and do all the things he and his wife have always dreamed of.
